Auto exports exceeded 2 million in the first half of the year

The reporter learned from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers on the 11th that China's auto exports continued to grow at a high rate. Following the annual export of over 2 million vehicles in 2021 and over 3 million vehicles in 2022, auto companies exported 2.14 million vehicles in the first half of this year. A year-on-year increase of 75.7%.

Automobile exports effectively stimulate the overall growth of the industry. In the first half of the year, driven by the central and local policies to promote consumption and the launch of a large number of new models of enterprises, the demand for the automobile market gradually recovered. The production and sales of automobiles were 13.248 million and 13.239 million, respectively, an increase of 9.3% and 9.8% year-on-year. Among them, the export of automobiles has grown rapidly, exceeding 2 million vehicles in the first half of the year, making a significant contribution to the overall growth of the market.

Data show that in the first quarter of this year, my country exported 1.07 million vehicles, becoming the world's number one in a single quarter for the first time. From January to May, my country's automobile exports totaled 1.933 million, ranking the leading position.

New energy vehicles have become a new growth point for exports. In the first half of the year, 1.78 million passenger vehicles were exported, a year-on-year increase of 88.4%; commercial vehicle exports were 361,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 31.9%. The export of new energy vehicles reached 534,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 1.6 times.
